Job Description
Bunnings Warehouse in Palmerston is looking for enthusiastic and physically capable individuals to join our team as an Entry Level Hardware Store Loader. This is a crucial customer-facing role where you will be responsible for safely and efficiently loading customer purchases, assisting with stock movement, and maintaining a tidy and safe store environment. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and engage with our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load customer purchases into vehicles, ensuring items are secured appropriately.
- Assist customers with carrying heavy or bulky items to their vehicles.
- Support the receiving team with unloading deliveries and moving stock to designated areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the loading dock, timber yard, and other designated areas.
- Adhere to all store safety policies and procedures, including manual handling guidelines.
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service, directing customers to products or store departments as needed.
- Assist with basic stock replenishment and merchandising tasks as directed by supervisors.
- Operate manual and powered lifting equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely after receiving training.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and carrying heavy items.
- Strong customer service orientation and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of hardware or building materials (not essential, but a plus).
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (any industry, not essential for this entry-level position).
- Valid driver's license.
