Job Description
Are you looking for an immediate opportunity to join a global leader in food production? General Mills Canada Corporation is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Cereal Packaging Line Hands to join our team in Montreal. This is an entry-level position with full training provided, perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, have a strong work ethic, and are ready to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate packaging of our cereal products, maintaining high standards of quality and food safety. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor packaging machinery to ensure smooth and continuous operation.
- Inspect finished products for quality defects and adherence to company standards.
- Load packaging materials (boxes, bags, etc.) onto the production line.
- Perform basic machine adjustments and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all sanitation guidelines.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and material handling as required.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs (11 kg) regularly.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.
- Ability to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends).
