Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable Geothermal Drilling Assistant (Mate) to join our growing team in Omagh. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the renewable energy sector, even if you have no prior drilling experience. As a Drilling Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our experienced drillers on-site, performing essential manual labor tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of geothermal drilling projects. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions, contributing directly to the installation of cutting-edge geothermal systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist drilling operators with the setup, operation, and dismantling of drilling equipment.
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, lifting, carrying tools and materials, and maintaining a clean and organized work site.
- Load and unload equipment and supplies from trucks.
- Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns to the driller.
- Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are strictly adhered to on site.
- Assist with the installation of geothermal loops and pipework.
- Maintain a high standard of personal and site safety at all times.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Learn and apply best practices for geothermal drilling operations.
- Undertake any other duties as required to support the drilling team.
