Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our dynamic team in Alexandria, Egypt. This is an exceptional opportunity for an international professional looking to practice in a vibrant cultural setting, with full visa sponsorship provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including performing eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, prescribing corrective lenses, and managing various visual impairments. You will work within a supportive environment, collaborating with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of patient care. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity and diagnose ocular health conditions.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring optimal visual correction for patients.
- Diagnose and manage various eye diseases, conditions, and vision problems, referring to ophthalmologists when necessary.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, contact lens hygiene, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with clinic protocols and regulations.
- Operate and maintain optometric equipment, ensuring its proper functioning and calibration.
- Collaborate effectively with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow and care.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advancements in optometry.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduation clinical experience as a practicing Optometrist.
- Current and unrestricted optometry license from country of origin, eligible for recognition/licensing in Egypt.
- Proficiency in performing comprehensive eye examinations and diagnosing ocular conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to patients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate patient records.
- Commitment to ethical practice and patient confidentiality.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging equipment (e.g., OCT, topography).
- Postgraduate certifications or specializations in areas such as glaucoma, low vision, or pediatric optometry.
- Ability to communicate in Arabic is a significant advantage.
- Previous experience working in a multicultural environment or with international patients.
