Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Marina Dockhand to join our dedicated team at Noosa River Marina Services. This customer-facing, manual role is perfect for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, have a passion for the marine environment, and are eager to provide top-notch service to our valued boaters. As a Dockhand, you will be the welcoming face of our marina, assisting with docking procedures, fueling vessels, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our docks. Full training will be provided to the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and a desire to learn. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with docking and departure procedures.
  • Operate fuel pumps and accurately process fuel sales.
  • Assist with the safe tying up and untying of vessels.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of docks, common areas, and facilities.
  • Monitor marina activity, reporting any issues or safety concerns to management.
  • Provide basic information and directions to marina guests.
  • Perform routine checks of dock equipment and infrastructure.
  • Assist with general marina maintenance tasks as required.
  • Operate a marina work skiff or utility vehicle as needed (after training).

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25kg.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy for processing transactions.
  • Commitment to safety protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Familiarity with boats or marine environments.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Marine Radio Operator's Certificate.
