Job Description

Svitzer Australia is seeking enthusiastic individuals for a Marine Engineer Cadet position based out of Maryborough, QLD. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in and complete all aspects of the structured cadet training program.
  • Assist senior marine engineers with the maintenance, inspection, and repair of vessel machinery and equipment, including main engines, generators, auxiliary systems, and propulsion units.
  • Learn to monitor vessel systems and engine room parameters, identifying potential issues and reporting them promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records and logbooks as directed by senior officers.
  • Contribute to general housekeeping and cleanliness of the engine room and associated spaces.
  • Undertake duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer to support safe and efficient vessel operations.
  • Participate in drills and emergency preparedness exercises to ensure readiness for all situations.
