Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Public Sector Security – National Safety personnel in Darwin. This critical role involves maintaining safety and security standards within government facilities and operations, supporting national safety objectives, and ensuring compliance with established protocols. You will play a vital role in protecting assets, personnel, and information, contributing directly to the integrity and effectiveness of public services. This position requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of designated areas to prevent and detect unauthorized activities.
- Monitor access points, screening individuals and vehicles as per security procedures.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including first aid and evacuation support.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and daily activities.
- Maintain strict adherence to all national safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific protocols.
- Liaise with internal teams and external authorities as required to ensure seamless security operations.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a public-facing security environment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and administrative tasks.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military roles.
- Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian security legislation and standards.
- Experience with CCTV monitoring and alarm systems.
