Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join our remote security operations team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in cybersecurity, particularly those interested in night shift operations. As a Junior Threat Analyst, you will be on the front lines, monitoring security systems, analyzing alerts, and contributing to the detection and initial response to cyber threats. Full training will be provided to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to excel in this crucial role. This position is 100% remote, offering flexibility and the chance to work from anywhere within the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for security alerts and incidents.
  • Perform initial triage and analysis of security events to determine potential threats.
  • Escalate confirmed security incidents to senior analysts and incident response teams.
  • Document security incidents, investigations, and mitigation steps thoroughly.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of security monitoring and response procedures.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., malware, phishing, firewalls).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Proficiency with common operating systems (Windows, Linux).
  • Availability to work night shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed or pursuing a degree/certification in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
