Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and physically robust individuals for the role of Ship Hull Barnacle Scraper. This is a demanding, hands-on position vital to the maintenance and operational readiness of vessels undergoing drydocking. You will be responsible for the thorough cleaning of ship hulls, removing biofouling, barnacles, and other marine growth. This role requires significant physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in challenging marine environments, often outdoors and in varying weather conditions. While prior experience is not required, a willingness to learn, adhere to strict safety protocols, and perform repetitive manual tasks with diligence is essential. Full training will be provided to ensure all tasks are completed safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually scrape and clean ship hulls to remove barnacles, algae, and other marine growth.
- Utilize hand tools, scrapers, and high-pressure washing equipment (after training) to achieve clean surfaces.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Assist with general drydock maintenance and cleanup as required.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments, exposed to various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and operate specialized cleaning tools and equipment.
- Commitment to following strict safety procedures and guidelines.

- Basic understanding of English for communication and safety instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a physically demanding role, construction, or maritime environment is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with marine environments or shipbuilding processes.
- Valid marine medical certificate (can be obtained post-hire).
