Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to join our dynamic team in Dallas, TX. This is an on-site position where you will be instrumental in designing innovative and compliant plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of challenging projects. You will work within a collaborative environment, contributing to all phases of project development from conceptual design through construction administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive plumbing and fire protection designs for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects.
  • Perform calculations for water supply, waste drainage, storm drainage, gas systems, and fire sprinkler systems (hydraulic calculations).
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports using industry-standard software like Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant local, state, and federal codes and standards (e.g., IPC, UPC, NFPA, IBC).
  • Coordinate design efforts with architects, other engineering disciplines, and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and site visits as required.
  • Conduct technical reviews of drawings and specifications prepared by junior engineers or other team members.
  • Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection system design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Strong understanding of plumbing codes (IPC/UPC) and fire protection codes (NFPA standards, IBC).
  • Ability to perform hydraulic calculations for fire sprinkler systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • LEED Accreditation or experience with sustainable design principles.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite, and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Prior experience working on large-scale infrastructure or complex building projects.
