Job Description
Join Linde Canada Inc. as a Dry Ice Press Assistant and become an integral part of our production team in Mississauga. This role involves operating specialized machinery to produce dry ice in a sub-zero environment, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of dry ice presses, maintaining product quality, and contributing to a secure work environment. Full training will be provided for successful candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor dry ice pressing machinery, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
- Perform routine quality checks on dry ice blocks and pellets, ensuring they meet specified standards.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and protocols, especially those related to cryogenic materials and sub-zero environments.
- Safely handle and package dry ice products for storage and distribution.
- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of the work area and equipment.
- Assist with inventory management, including tracking materials and finished products.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or production issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times, including specialized cold-weather gear.
Required Skills
- Ability to work comfortably and safely in sub-zero temperatures for extended periods (with provided PPE).
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to strict protocols.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for long durations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting machinery.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
- Experience working with industrial machinery or specialized equipment.
- Familiarity with cold storage operations or cryogenic materials.
- Forklift operator certification (an asset, but not required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
