Job Description
Kiewit Corporation is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Rebar Tying Assistant in Goodyear, AZ. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to learn the foundational skills of rebar installation within heavy civil construction projects. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. You will be performing heavy manual labor in various outdoor conditions, supporting skilled ironworkers in preparing steel reinforcement for concrete structures. This role is physically demanding but offers a direct path to learning a valuable trade and building a career in construction. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled ironworkers in the assembly and tying of rebar according to blueprints and specifications.
- Cut, bend, and place rebar as directed, using various hand and power tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
- Handle, move, and store rebar and other materials on the job site safely and efficiently.
- Operate small power tools and equipment under supervision, following all operating guidelines.
- Perform other manual labor tasks as assigned to support project needs and maintain site operations.
- Actively participate in training sessions to learn and apply proper rebar tying techniques and safety practices.
