Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for a physically engaging and rewarding career with premium pay? ServiceMaster Clean of Reno is seeking a dedicated and reliable Commercial Kitchen Hood Cleaner to join our night shift team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously cleaning commercial kitchen exhaust systems, ensuring they meet the highest safety and hygiene standards. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team during overnight hours. We provide all necessary training and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning and degreasing of commercial kitchen exhaust hoods, filters, fans, and associated ductwork according to company standards and NFPA 96 guidelines.
- Safely disassemble and reassemble various components of kitchen exhaust systems.
- Operate specialized cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, and use appropriate cleaning chemicals effectively and safely.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inspect cleaned systems to ensure all grease and residue have been removed, reporting any issues or damage found.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and client interactions.
- Ensure all work areas are left clean and tidy upon completion of service.
- Safely operate company vehicles to and from job sites.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently work night shifts (typically Sunday night through Friday morning).
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and working on ladders/lifts for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Reliable transportation to and from our facility.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in commercial cleaning, pressure washing, or a related physically demanding role (6+ months).
- Familiarity with NFPA 96 standards for ventilation control and fire protection of commercial cooking operations.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
