Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Penetration Tester / Ethical Hacker to join our advanced cybersecurity team in Ithaca, NY. In this role, you will be crucial in identifying vulnerabilities and strengthening the security posture of our critical systems and applications. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, performing comprehensive security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability analyses. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on web applications, network infrastructure, operating systems, and other systems.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments to identify security weaknesses and provide remediation strategies.
  • Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and tools to identify new vulnerabilities.
  • Analyze security risks and recommend appropriate controls and countermeasures.
  • Document findings, communicate risk levels, and present reports to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest security trends, exploits, and tools.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to implement security best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our security testing methodologies and processes.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in penetration testing methodologies and tools (e.g., Metasploit, Nmap, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and web application architectures.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Knowledge of common security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25).
  • Familiarity with various attack vectors and exploitation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, CEH, GPEN, eJPT).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
  • Experience with cloud security assessments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Experience in an Agile development environment.
