Job Description
Are you passionate about textiles and eager to learn the art of weaving? Keighley Weavers Collective is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Textile Weaving & Loom Operation Intern to join our team in Keighley. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience who are keen to develop practical skills in textile manufacturing. You will receive comprehensive training in operating and maintaining various types of weaving looms, understanding fabric construction, and ensuring quality control. This internship provides invaluable real-world experience and a solid foundation for a career in the textile industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to operate various weaving looms under supervision, including setting up and monitoring.
- Assist with material preparation, including loading bobbins and creels.
- Monitor looms during operation to identify and resolve basic issues like thread breaks.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks and cleaning of looms and work areas.
- Conduct quality checks on woven fabric to identify defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
- Support senior weavers and loom operators in daily production tasks.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures in the workshop.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- Participate actively in training sessions and continuous learning opportunities.
Required Skills
- Eagerness and enthusiasm to learn about textile manufacturing and weaving.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot minor imperfections.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Preferred Qualifications
