Job Description

Maplewood Hospitality Group invites enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Resort Operations & Guest Experience Intern for the summer season at our beautiful lakeside property in Seguin, Ontario. This immersive internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across various facets of resort operations. You will work closely with seasoned professionals, contributing to daily resort functions and enhancing the guest journey from arrival to departure. This role is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of what it takes to run a world-class resort, focusing on operational efficiency and exceptional guest service. You will learn the intricacies of front office procedures, housekeeping management, food and beverage operations, and recreational activities planning. This is an entry-level position where full training will be provided, making it an ideal stepping stone for aspiring hospitality leaders. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Front Office team with guest check-ins, check-outs, and inquiry resolution, ensuring a seamless arrival and departure experience.
- Support Housekeeping supervisors in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and room readiness, including inventory checks and amenity stocking.
- Participate in Food & Beverage service, assisting with dining room setup, order taking, and guest satisfaction monitoring.
- Help organize and execute resort recreational activities and special events, ensuring guest engagement and enjoyment.
- Act as a primary point of contact for guest requests and concerns, demonstrating proactive problem-solving and excellent communication.
- Conduct regular property inspections to identify and report maintenance needs or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure inter-departmental communication and smooth resort operations.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and operational standards and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Hospitality, Tourism, or Business Management program
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (e.g., retail, food service, volunteer work) is an asset
- Knowledge of basic resort operations or reservation systems is a plus
