Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Food Processing Manager to oversee operations at our Gosport facility. This critical role involves managing all aspects of food production, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, optimizing efficiency, and leading a diverse team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining our high standards of product quality and operational excellence. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified international candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food processing operations, ensuring production targets are met efficiently and safely.
  • Implement and maintain stringent quality control and food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, ISO).
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and optimize production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and employment regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including supply chain, R&D, and sales, to achieve company objectives.
  • Prepare and analyze production reports, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and ensure operational readiness of all machinery.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of food safety regulations, quality assurance, and hygiene standards.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • HACCP Level 3 or 4 certification.
  • BRC Global Standards experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with production planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
