Job Description
Are you eager to launch a rewarding career in the skilled trades? Antelope Valley Plumbing Solutions is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Plumber’s Mate / Helper to join our growing team. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for individuals with little to no prior plumbing experience who are ready to learn from experienced professionals and begin their journey towards becoming a licensed plumber. You will work alongside our journeyman plumbers, assisting with various tasks, learning the fundamentals of plumbing systems, and gaining hands-on experience in both residential and commercial settings. We are looking for someone who is reliable, a quick learner, and has a strong work ethic. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed plumbers with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Gather and transport tools and materials to job sites.
- Prepare work areas by clearing obstacles and setting up equipment.
- Perform basic tasks such as cutting pipe, fetching parts, and cleanup.
- Learn to identify and use various plumbing tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites and in the shop.
- Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
- Shadow experienced plumbers to learn best practices and problem-solving techniques.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Required Skills
- Strong willingness to learn and accept direction.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and kneeling.
- Reliable transportation to and from our shop/job sites.
- Basic understanding of hand tools.
- Excellent punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in how things work.
- Prior experience in a labor-intensive role (e.g., construction, landscaping) is a plus but not required.
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
