Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Commercial Photography Assistant Intern to join our dynamic in-house creative team in Milwaukee. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail photography studio environment. No prior professional photography experience is required; we are looking for individuals eager to learn and grow. You will assist our senior photographers and stylists with various tasks, contributing to the creation of high-quality imagery for marketing, e-commerce, and brand campaigns. Full training will be provided to help you develop foundational skills in commercial photography workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist photographers and stylists during photo shoots, including setting up and breaking down equipment.
- Organize and maintain photography equipment, props, and studio spaces.
- Prepare products and sets according to stylist directions and creative briefs.
- Support image file management, including organization and basic naming conventions.
- Learn about lighting techniques, camera operation, and digital workflow under guidance.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed to support the photography team.
- Contribute creative ideas during brainstorming sessions and pre-production meetings.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized studio environment.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for photography and visual arts.
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to lift and move light to moderately heavy equipment (up to 25 lbs) occasionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Photography, Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Arts).
- Familiarity with basic photography concepts or a personal portfolio (even if amateur).
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop) is a plus but not required.
