Job Description
Are you passionate about fashion, design, and creating visually stunning displays? The Hudson’s Bay Company is seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual to join our team as a Visual Merchandising Assistant (Trainee). This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a career in visual merchandising, as full training will be provided. You will learn the art and science of display creation, product presentation, and store aesthetics under the guidance of experienced professionals. No prior experience is required – just a keen eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to contribute to an inspiring shopping environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior visual merchandisers in executing creative display concepts across various departments.
- Learn to interpret visual merchandising guidelines and implement them effectively on the sales floor.
- Support the preparation of merchandise, fixtures, and props for display setups.
- Maintain the visual standards of the store, ensuring all displays are clean, well-stocked, and impactful.
- Help with the rotation of seasonal and promotional merchandise.
- Organize and maintain the visual merchandising stockroom and display materials.
- Collaborate with sales associates to understand product availability and promotional needs.
- Provide input and fresh ideas for visual presentations as you gain experience.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong passion for fashion, design, and retail.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
