Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Mining Engineering Intern to join our team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of mineral extraction operations, under the guidance of experienced mining engineers. The intern will assist with project work, data analysis, and operational support, contributing to efficiency and safety improvements. This role is ideal for students looking to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical, real-world setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist mining engineers with daily operational tasks and project assignments.
- Collect and analyze data related to production, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Participate in site visits to observe extraction processes, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Contribute to the development of operational reports and presentations.
- Support the implementation of new technologies or process improvements.
- Conduct research on best practices in mineral extraction and processing.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety, environmental, and operational policies.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, MineSight).
- Previous experience or coursework related to mineral processing or geology.
- Demonstrated interest in heavy civil construction materials or mining industry.
