Job Description
We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Engineer with expertise in Java and Spring Boot to join our dynamic team in East Kilbride. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services for mission-critical applications. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement new features.
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues, identifying and implementing solutions to maintain system stability.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technology stack decisions.
Required Skills
- Proven professional experience (minimum 3 years) as a Backend Engineer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Java programming language.
- Extensive experience with the Spring Boot framework.
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Experience with message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
