Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Equine Veterinarian / Surgeon to join our thriving practice in Fort Worth, Texas. You will work alongside experienced professionals, utilizing advanced diagnostic and surgical technologies, and participate in a varied caseload ranging from routine wellness to complex surgical interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive equine physical examinations and diagnostics.
- Execute a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures on horses.
- Provide emergency and critical care services on a rotating basis.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, collaborating with clients and internal specialists.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Educate clients on preventative care, treatment options, and overall horse health.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in equine practice, including surgical experience.
- Proficiency in diagnostic imaging (radiography, ultrasound).
- Demonstrated surgical competency in common equine procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification or residency training in Equine Surgery.
- Advanced skills in lameness diagnostics and sports medicine.
- Experience with advanced imaging modalities (MRI, CT).
- Prior experience working with a diverse range of equine disciplines.
