Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Equine Veterinarian / Surgeon to join our thriving practice in Fort Worth, Texas. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive equine physical examinations and diagnostics.
  • Execute a wide range of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures on horses.
  • Provide emergency and critical care services on a rotating basis.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, collaborating with clients and internal specialists.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Educate clients on preventative care, treatment options, and overall horse health.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive team environment.

Required Skills

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in equine practice, including surgical experience.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic imaging (radiography, ultrasound).
  • Demonstrated surgical competency in common equine procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification or residency training in Equine Surgery.
  • Advanced skills in lameness diagnostics and sports medicine.
  • Experience with advanced imaging modalities (MRI, CT).
  • Prior experience working with a diverse range of equine disciplines.
