Job Description
Are you passionate about working outdoors and eager to learn the art of grounds maintenance and gardening? We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Grounds Maintenance Worker / Trainee Gardener. This entry-level position is perfect for someone with little to no prior experience, as we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning essential skills in landscape care, horticulture, and the operation of various gardening equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding under supervision.
- Learn and perform basic planting, pruning, and watering techniques for a variety of plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Operate hand tools and basic power equipment safely and effectively after proper training.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work sites and company vehicles.
- Support the team in seasonal tasks such as leaf removal, mulching, and debris clean-up.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow within the landscaping industry.
Required Skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks, lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and follow instructions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Prior experience with outdoor labor or physical work (even if not landscaping specific).
