Job Description
Join our essential team as a Local Council Refuse Collector / Bin Loader and contribute directly to the cleanliness and well-being of Portland, ME. This physically active role involves collecting residential and commercial waste, ensuring proper disposal, and operating as part of a crucial crew. Key Responsibilities
- Manually load refuse, recycling, and yard waste into collection vehicles.
- Operate compaction mechanisms and other equipment safely.
- Assist the driver with navigating routes and reversing the vehicle.
- Ensure efficient and timely completion of assigned collection routes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental procedures.
- Interact professionally and courteously with the public.
- Maintain cleanliness of collection vehicles and equipment.
