Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior UI/UX Designer to join our innovative team in Sept-Îles, Quebec. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and interface of complex digital products and services, leading design initiatives from concept to implementation. You will be responsible for translating user needs and business requirements into intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing designs, working closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and other designers. Your leadership and expertise will be crucial in mentoring junior designers and advocating for user-centered design principles across the organization. We are looking for a creative problem-solver with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in all facets of the UI/UX design process, from research and ideation to prototyping and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end UI/UX design processes for multiple projects, from discovery and research to wireframing, prototyping, and final high-fidelity mockups.
  • Conduct comprehensive user research, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics review, to deeply understand user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
  • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and component libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across products.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, business analysts, and developers to define requirements, translate them into compelling design solutions, and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Present design concepts and articulate design rationale clearly to stakeholders and project teams, incorporating feedback effectively.
  • Mentor and guide junior UI/UX designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and design excellence.
  • Stay abreast of the latest UI/UX trends, tools, and technologies, advocating for their adoption when beneficial.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Facilitate design workshops and ideation sessions to drive innovative solutions.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, with a strong focus on complex enterprise applications or large-scale digital platforms.
  • Expert proficiency with leading design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Demonstrable expertise in user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects, problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead design initiatives and manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of web and mobile technologies and their impact on design decisions.
  • Experience with A/B testing and analytics to inform design iterations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to understand design limitations and possibilities.
  • Experience designing for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA) standards.
  • Previous experience in the consulting sector or working with clients in public sector, natural resources, or finance industries.
