Job Description

Orkin is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Trainee Pest Control Officers. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity where no prior experience in pest control is required. We provide comprehensive, paid training and cover the costs of your licensing, setting you up for a successful and rewarding career. As a Trainee Pest Control Officer, you will learn the science behind pest management, develop expert problem-solving skills, and build strong relationships with customers. You will operate independently in the field, managing your own route and providing essential services that protect health and property.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive paid training and obtain required state/local licensing for pest control operations.
- Learn and apply effective pest identification, inspection, and treatment techniques.
- Manage an assigned route, scheduling appointments and maintaining customer relationships.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining services and answering questions.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify pest problems and develop appropriate solutions.
- Apply pest control products safely and according to regulations.
- Complete accurate paperwork and maintain detailed service records.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Continuously learn about new products, techniques, and industry advancements.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license and good driving record (required for field work).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and commit to a demanding training program.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and navigate confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience.
- Experience in a route-based or independent work environment.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with customers.
- A natural curiosity for science and biology.
