Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Remote Subtitle & Caption Writer. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy watching various forms of video content and possess strong linguistic skills. As a Caption Writer, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio content from a wide range of videos into text, creating precise subtitles and captions, and ensuring they are perfectly synchronized with the on-screen action and dialogue. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position, offering flexibility and the chance to contribute to the global accessibility of Netflix content. No prior experience in subtitling is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio dialogue and relevant sounds from video content into text.
- Create clear, concise, and grammatically correct subtitles and captions.
- Synchronize captions precisely with the timing of the audio and visual elements.
- Review and edit your own work to ensure high quality and adherence to specific style guidelines.
- Manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines consistently.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive content.
Required Skills
- Exceptional command of the English language, including impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong listening skills and ability to discern dialogue clearly.
- Fast and accurate typing speed.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and personal computer.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote environment.
