Job Description
We are actively seeking dedicated and compassionate Paramedics and EMTs to join our emergency medical services team in Salmon Arm, British Columbia. Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls and provide immediate medical care to patients at the scene.
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate medical interventions.
- Administer medications, perform life-saving procedures, and operate medical equipment.
- Safely transport patients to medical facilities while continuously monitoring their condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of patient care and incident reports.
- Maintain and clean emergency medical equipment and vehicles.
- Adhere to all provincial and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Required Skills
- Current Paramedic or EMT certification/licensure (or eligibility for Canadian provincial licensure).
- Demonstrated proficiency in emergency medical procedures and patient assessment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to relocate to Salmon Arm, British Columbia.
- Commitment to undertaking the Canadian Skilled Worker immigration process with employer support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Paramedic or EMT.
- Experience in a rural or remote emergency medical services setting.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, ITLS, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in French (an asset).
