Job Description
Join the McDonald’s Canada team in Regina as a Nightly Deep Fryer Drainer for our food truck operations. This essential part-time role ensures the safe and efficient maintenance of our deep-frying equipment, contributing directly to our food quality and operational hygiene. No prior experience is necessary; comprehensive training will be provided to the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drain deep fryers according to established procedures each night.
- Filter cooking oil and replenish as required, ensuring optimal oil quality.
- Thoroughly clean deep fryer units and surrounding areas, including baskets, lids, and hoods.
- Dispose of used oil in compliance with environmental and company standards.
- Inspect deep fryers for any mechanical issues or wear and tear, reporting findings promptly to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Assist with other nightly cleaning tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic for nightly shifts.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy objects (e.g., oil vats, cleaning supplies) up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Basic understanding of English for comprehending safety instructions and team communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment (even basic dishwashing or cleaning roles).
- Knowledge of basic food safety principles or a valid food handler's certificate.
- Experience working night shifts.
