Job Description
Join Island Health’s dedicated team as a Virtual Public Health Contact Tracer. This is a crucial remote role focused on supporting public health efforts by identifying and notifying individuals who may have been exposed to communicable diseases. As an immediate start position, you will undergo comprehensive training to equip you with the necessary skills to conduct confidential interviews, provide public health guidance, and accurately document information. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute to community health from the comfort of your home. We are seeking empathetic, detail-oriented individuals with excellent communication skills who are ready to make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct confidential, empathetic interviews with individuals confirmed to have a communicable disease to identify close contacts.
- Notify contacts of their potential exposure in a sensitive and culturally appropriate manner, providing information on monitoring symptoms and isolation/quarantine protocols.
- Provide accurate and up-to-date public health information and guidance based on established protocols.
- Document all information meticulously and accurately into secure database systems.
- Follow strict confidentiality and data security protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with a team of public health professionals and supervisors, escalating complex cases as needed.
- Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor during all interactions.
Required Skills

Preferred Qualifications
