Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in healthcare without prior experience? Specsavers in Cheltenham is excited to offer a unique opportunity for an Optometry Technician Trainee. This entry-level position is perfect for enthusiastic individuals eager to learn and develop new skills. We provide comprehensive, hands-on training from day one, covering all aspects of pre-screening eye tests, patient care, and optical equipment operation. No previous optical experience is required – just a passion for helping people and a commitment to learning. You will play a vital role in supporting our Optometrists and ensuring our patients receive the best possible care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary eye tests and pre-screening procedures using various optical equipment, under supervision.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is clean, functional, and calibrated.
- Assist Optometrists during eye examinations by gathering patient information and preparing them for tests.
- Educate patients on the purpose of different tests and ensure their comfort throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering patient queries and guiding them through their visit.
- Sterilize and maintain optical instruments and equipment according to health and safety guidelines.
- Order and manage stock of optical supplies as needed.
