Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Pet Boarding Night Attendant to join our team for the quiet overnight shift. This crucial role involves monitoring the well-being and safety of our animal guests, ensuring a peaceful and secure environment throughout the night. You will be responsible for observational checks, maintaining cleanliness, and responding to any immediate animal needs, providing a comforting presence for our furry residents. This position is perfect for someone who loves animals, is reliable, and can work independently through the night.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular quiet rounds through all boarding areas to observe pet behavior and health.
  • Monitor for any signs of distress, illness, or unusual activity among pets.
  • Perform light cleaning duties, including kennel spot checks, laundry, and maintaining common areas.
  • Ensure all doors and gates are securely locked and the facility remains safe.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to any overnight emergencies, following established protocols.
  • Provide fresh water to all animals as needed.
  • Document observations and any incidents thoroughly for the morning staff.
  • Maintain a calm and quiet environment to allow pets to rest undisturbed.

Required Skills

  • Genuine love and compassion for animals.
  • High level of reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working overnight shifts.
  • Ability to follow instructions and protocols meticulously.
  • Basic physical ability to walk throughout the facility and lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in animal care, pet sitting, or veterinary assistant roles (even volunteer).
  • Certification in Pet First Aid or CPR.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
