Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Virtual E-learning Support Coordinator to join our academic support team. This part-time, remote position offers term-time options, making it ideal for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements that align with academic calendars. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our online learning platforms, providing technical assistance and administrative support to faculty and students engaged in virtual education. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a passion for supporting educational technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide front-line technical support for students and faculty regarding e-learning platforms (e.g., Blackboard, Canvas, Zoom, etc.) via email, chat, and virtual meetings.
- Troubleshoot common technical issues related to course access, assignment submission, multimedia content, and virtual classroom tools.
- Assist faculty in setting up and managing course content, assignments, and grade books within the learning management system (LMS).
- Develop and maintain user-friendly guides, FAQs, and tutorial resources for e-learning tools and best practices.
- Coordinate with IT and instructional design teams to resolve complex technical problems and implement system updates.
- Monitor e-learning support tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution and communication.
- Participate in virtual training sessions and workshops to stay updated on new e-learning technologies and features.
- Help facilitate online proctoring services and ensure compliance with academic integrity policies.
- Maintain accurate records of support interactions and issues.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with common Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, Canvas, Moodle, or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a virtual environment.
- Familiarity with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Basic understanding of virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Prior experience in an educational support role, particularly in a virtual or online learning environment.
- Experience creating instructional documentation or help guides.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards for online content.
