Job Description
Join Ubisoft as a Metaverse Architecture & 3D Modeling Intern and dive into the exciting world of virtual experience creation. This entry-level internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, focusing on developing immersive environments and interactive 3D assets for our exploratory metaverse initiatives. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and workflows, and receive comprehensive training to kickstart your career in this rapidly evolving field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior architects and 3D artists in designing and modeling virtual environments and interactive objects for metaverse platforms.
- Contribute to the creation of detailed 3D models, textures, and materials using various software tools.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews, offering creative input and learning from feedback.
- Help optimize 3D assets for performance within real-time virtual environments.
- Conduct research on emerging trends in metaverse development, virtual architecture, and 3D modeling techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and other artists.
- Document workflows, assets, and design decisions as required.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of 3D modeling principles and concepts (no prior professional experience needed, academic projects are welcome).
- Familiarity with at least one 3D software package (e.g., Blender, SketchUp, Maya, 3ds Max – even self-taught knowledge is valued).
- A strong passion for video games, virtual worlds, and emerging technologies like the metaverse.
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and methodologies.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Eligibility to work as an intern in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program (e.g., Architecture, Industrial Design, Game Design, 3D Animation, Computer Graphics).
- A portfolio demonstrating personal 3D projects, sketches, or architectural concepts (even if unpolished).
- Basic knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with digital sculpting tools like ZBrush or Mudbox.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
