Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Investor Relations Manager to join our dynamic team in Derby. This critical role involves acting as a primary liaison between HSBC and the investment community, ensuring clear and consistent communication of the company’s financial performance, strategic objectives, and operational highlights. The Investor Relations Manager will be instrumental in shaping the company’s narrative, fostering strong relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and other stakeholders, and monitoring market perceptions. This position is based in our Derby office, and comprehensive relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, sell-side analysts, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Prepare quarterly earnings materials, including press releases, investor presentations, and Q&A documents.
  • Monitor and analyse market sentiment, competitor performance, and industry trends.
  • Coordinate and participate in investor conferences, roadshows, and one-on-one meetings.
  • Oversee the company's investor relations website and other communication channels to ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, including Finance, Legal, and Corporate Communications, to ensure a cohesive corporate message.
  • Provide senior management with regular feedback on investor perceptions and market expectations.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of the investor relations strategy.
  • Manage the investor relations calendar and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in Investor Relations, Equity Research, Corporate Finance, or a related field within financial services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial modelling, valuation techniques, and capital markets.
  • Proficiency in creating compelling presentations and investor materials.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • CFA designation or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company or a major financial institution.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., FCA, SEC).
  • Advanced proficiency with investor relations software and financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
