Job Description

Vets4Pets in Tamworth is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant to join our friendly team. This is an entry-level position, and full comprehensive training will be provided to the successful candidate. No prior experience in a veterinary setting or pharmacy is required – just a strong desire to learn and contribute to the health and well-being of pets. As a Veterinary Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary surgeons and nurses by managing our practice pharmacy. You will ensure our medications are accurately dispensed, safely stored, and readily available to help us provide the best possible care for our beloved animal patients. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the accurate dispensing of prescribed medications under veterinary supervision.
- Manage and maintain pharmacy stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and rotating supplies.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of all pharmaceutical products in compliance with regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Provide administrative support, including accurate record-keeping and inventory updates.
- Assist veterinary staff with patient care as needed, such as preparing treatment areas or safely restraining animals.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet owners regarding medication instructions and queries.
