Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mining Engineer to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to significant projects within the resource sector. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses for potential mining projects.
- Design and optimize mine plans, layouts, and extraction methods.
- Implement and monitor mining operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and manage project budgets and timelines.
- Utilize mining software and modeling tools for design and analysis.
- Collaborate with geological, environmental, and other engineering teams.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve mining processes and reduce costs.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in mining software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, MineSight, Vulcan).
- Strong understanding of mining methods, rock mechanics, and mineral processing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in mining.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with open-pit and underground mining operations.
- Familiarity with geological modeling and resource estimation.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP).
