Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our production team as a Distillery Barrel Mover. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and organization of heavy spirit barrels within our warehouse and production areas. This position requires significant physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment. You will be an integral part of ensuring our spirits age perfectly and our operations run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move, roll, and stack heavy spirit barrels (up to 500 lbs) using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Organize and maintain the barrel warehouse, ensuring proper inventory placement and accessibility.
- Assist with barrel filling, emptying, and sampling processes.
- Operate barrel carts, forklifts, and other material handling equipment as needed (training provided if necessary).
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of warehouse areas and equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and distillery protocols.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality concerns immediately.
- Collaborate with the distillation and bottling teams to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of barrel movements and locations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 500 lbs with assistance/equipment) regularly throughout the workday.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
- Good physical stamina and endurance.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a warehouse, brewery, distillery, or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery (certification a plus).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
