Job Description

Join Coastal Environmental Consultants as an Environmental Sampling Assistant! This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about environmental science and eager to gain hands-on field experience. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. You will play a crucial role in collecting vital environmental data, supporting our project managers and senior scientists in various field investigations. This position involves significant outdoor work in various weather conditions and requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior staff with environmental sampling activities for soil, water, air, and other media.
  • Operate and maintain field equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
  • Accurately record field data, observations, and sample information according to established protocols.
  • Package and label samples for shipment to analytical laboratories.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Transport equipment and samples to and from project sites.
  • Perform basic site preparation and cleanup tasks.
  • Learn and apply various environmental sampling techniques and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members on field projects.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and procedures.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
