Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Wind Turbine Technicians/Engineers to join our growing team in Coventry, UK. As a Wind Turbine Technician / Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Vestas wind turbines. Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance and longevity of our critical infrastructure, playing a direct role in the generation of clean, renewable energy for the region and beyond. Safety, efficiency, and quality are paramount in this challenging and rewarding on-site role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine scheduled maintenance, inspections, and safety checks on wind turbine systems and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Execute complex repairs and replacements of major turbine components, including gearboxes, generators, and blades.
- Strictly adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records, fault reports, and operational logs.
- Collaborate effectively with field teams, operations managers, and engineering support to ensure efficient project execution.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent service requests as needed.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic fault-finding and repair.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Certification or willingness to obtain certifications for working at height and confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid UK driving license or equivalent, with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship (Vestas will support the visa application process).
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar industrial maintenance or engineering role, preferably within the wind energy sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training certification.
- Prior experience working with Vestas wind turbine models.
- Experience working in challenging outdoor environments and at remote sites.
