Job Description
Join LabCorp as a Medical Sample Courier and play a vital role in the healthcare ecosystem of Biloxi, MS. In this essential full-time position, you will be responsible for the safe, timely, and secure transportation of medical samples, supplies, and reports between our facilities, hospitals, clinics, and patient service centers. This role is crucial for ensuring that patient specimens reach our laboratories for accurate and efficient testing. A company vehicle will be provided for all work-related duties, eliminating personal wear and tear on your vehicle. We are looking for a highly responsible individual with a strong commitment to safety and a clean driving record.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport medical specimens, lab reports, and supplies according to established routes and schedules.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety protocols, including biohazard handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of specimens collected and delivered.
- Ensure the integrity and security of all samples during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, laboratory staff, and client personnel.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Operate company vehicles responsibly and maintain cleanliness.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record (no major infractions within the last 3-5 years).
- Minimum of 1 year of general driving experience.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent time management and route optimization abilities.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a medical courier or in a related transportation role.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and biohazard safety procedures.
- Geographical knowledge of the Biloxi, MS area.
