Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical M&A Analyst to join our Financial Advisory team in Banbury. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising activities across various industries. The M&A Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting transaction execution, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and preparing client presentations. You will work closely with senior team members on live deals, contributing to strategic discussions and providing valuable insights that drive successful outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting detailed financial modeling and valuation analyses (DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions).
  • Performing comprehensive industry and company research to support strategic recommendations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of pitch books, information memoranda, and other transaction-related documents.
  • Supporting due diligence processes, including data room management and review of financial and operational information.
  • Analyzing market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting potential transactions.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., legal counsel, auditors) throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Preparing internal memos and reports to support deal decision-making.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role within corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a quantitative discipline.
  • Excellent financial modeling and valuation skills, with proficiency in Excel.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance concepts.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for creating professional client presentations.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA candidacy or completion.
  • Experience with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or Refinitiv Eikon.
  • Previous experience in a professional services environment.
  • Sector-specific knowledge relevant to the Oxfordshire market.
