Job Description
Are you passionate about pets and their well-being? Do you love helping people make informed choices for their furry, feathered, or scaled friends? We’re looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Pet Food Store Nutritional Advisor to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be the go-to expert for pet nutrition, guiding customers through our extensive range of products, and ensuring every pet leaves with the perfect meal plan. You’ll combine your love for animals with your excellent retail sales skills to create a positive and informative shopping experience for every customer. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert, tailored nutritional advice to customers based on their pet's specific needs, breed, age, and health conditions.
- Actively engage with customers, identifying their requirements and recommending appropriate pet food and nutritional supplements.
- Process sales transactions accurately, handle cash and card payments, and manage returns.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, ensuring shelves are well-stocked, clean, and products are clearly priced.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest pet nutrition trends, product developments, and company promotions.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and monitoring stock levels.
- Educate customers on responsible pet ownership and additional services offered by Pets at Home.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong passion for animals and a genuine interest in pet welfare and nutrition.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for point-of-sale systems.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to sales.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail sales or customer service role, ideally within the pet care or animal health industry.
- Knowledge of various pet food brands, ingredients, and dietary requirements.
- Accreditation or certification in pet nutrition or animal care.
- Experience handling various types of pets.
