Job Description
UPS is seeking a dedicated and reliable Public Sector Procurement Driver for light van delivery in the Fort Collins area. This role involves the efficient and safe transportation of various goods, supplies, and documents specifically for our public sector clients, ensuring their operational needs are met without interruption. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading, delivering, and unloading items, maintaining accurate records, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. This is a critical role supporting essential government and public services.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a light delivery van to transport goods to designated public sector locations within Fort Collins and surrounding areas.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring proper handling and security of all items.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries against invoices and delivery manifests.
- Maintain a detailed log of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and internal teams regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
- Represent UPS professionally at all times while interacting with public sector personnel.
Required Skills
- Valid US driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs independently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a delivery or professional driving role.
- Familiarity with Fort Collins and surrounding Northern Colorado routes.
- Experience working with public sector clients or government contracts.
- Proficiency in using handheld delivery devices and logistics software.
