Job Description
Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences and eager to learn about wine? Milwaukee Urban Winery is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join our team as a Winery Tasting Room Pourer for weekend shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to immerse themselves in the wine industry, with full training provided on our wines, tasting techniques, and customer service standards. You’ll be the face of our brand, guiding guests through our wine offerings and ensuring a delightful and educational visit.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided wine tastings for guests, explaining wine characteristics, origins, and pairing suggestions.
- Educate guests about Milwaukee Urban Winery's history, winemaking process, and unique offerings.
- Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system for wine, merchandise, and club memberships.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting tasting room environment.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including restocking and setup/teardown.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues with professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Promote wine club memberships and special events.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local alcohol service regulations.
Required Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A strong interest in wine and a desire to learn; no prior wine experience necessary, full training provided!
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-service oriented with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Reliable and punctual, especially for weekend shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (e.g., cases of wine).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality, retail, or a customer-facing role.
- Basic knowledge of wine regions or varietals.
- Experience with POS systems.
