Job Description
Are you a compassionate and reliable individual looking to make a positive impact in your local community? Warrnambool Community Care Services is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Community Transport Driver to provide safe and friendly transportation for our senior residents. This vital role helps connect seniors to medical appointments, social activities, shopping, and other essential services, promoting their independence and reducing social isolation. Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport senior clients to and from various destinations, including appointments, social events, and shopping centres.
- Assist clients with boarding and alighting the vehicle, including managing mobility aids as needed.
- Maintain a punctual and efficient transport schedule.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure safety and cleanliness, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide a friendly and supportive atmosphere for all passengers, engaging in respectful conversation.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate transport logs and records.
Required Skills
- Current and valid Australian Driver's License (minimum C class)
- Demonstrated clean driving record
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic approach
- Ability to assist passengers with diverse mobility needs
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility
- Understanding and commitment to client confidentiality and privacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar community transport or care role
- Local knowledge of Warrnambool and surrounding areas
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
