Job Description
XPO Logistics is seeking an experienced and dynamic Freight Forwarding Manager to join our team in Scranton, PA. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of our freight forwarding operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of goods, and managing a team of dedicated professionals. We are specifically looking for candidates who require a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) to work in the United States, as we are able to provide sponsorship for the right individual. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with international regulations, and maintaining high standards of customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead daily freight forwarding operations for air, ocean, and ground shipments.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize service delivery, cost-efficiency, and operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with all international trade regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
- Oversee customer service activities, resolving escalated issues and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Manage vendor relationships with carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics partners.
- Monitor performance metrics, prepare reports, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate a team of freight forwarding specialists.
- Manage budgeting and financial performance for the forwarding department.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation processing.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in freight forwarding operations, including air, ocean, and ground.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and Incoterms.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a customer-centric approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification in customs brokerage or related logistics field.
- Experience with specific freight forwarding platforms (e.g., CargoWise One, BluJay).
- Multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Experience in managing P&L for a freight forwarding department.
