Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our team in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. As an HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and longevity of our clients’ HVAC equipment, adhering to the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot residential and commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and refrigeration units.
- Perform diagnostic testing and inspections to identify and resolve HVAC system malfunctions.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance and extend equipment lifespan.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, and connect pipe to functional components and water or waste pipes.
- Charge system with refrigerant and check for leaks.
- Explain services, products, and system operations to clients clearly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate service records and document all work performed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Participate in on-call rotation as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HVAC Technician.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC principles, electrical systems, and refrigeration cycles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal Endorsement in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic or equivalent provincial certification.
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS).
- Gasfitter B or A license.
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
- Customer service experience in a field service role.
