Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Nurse to join our dynamic team at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
  • Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform advanced life support interventions.
  • Assess patient conditions, interpret diagnostic tests, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical directives.
  • Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
  • Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, including ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
  • Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.

Required Skills

  • Current RN license in Wyoming (or ability to obtain before start date)
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • CCRN certification
  • Experience with trauma patients
  • PALS certification
