Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Nurse to join our dynamic team at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform advanced life support interventions.
- Assess patient conditions, interpret diagnostic tests, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical directives.
- Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Operate and maintain specialized medical equipment, including ventilators, IV pumps, and cardiac monitors.
- Document patient information accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient status and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.
Required Skills
- Current RN license in Wyoming (or ability to obtain before start date)
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- CCRN certification
- Experience with trauma patients
- PALS certification
